Tropikariet, interactive indoor zoo and aquarium in Helsingborg, Southern Sweden 1 644
Show on map
Tropikariet is an interactive indoor zoo and aquarium in Helsingborg. The company is privately owned and run by a family. The African Café Masai Mara and the souvenir shop are located right next to the glass enclosure with African meerkats and the tortoise savanna zone. Most animals at the zoo are exotic: there are lemurs from Madagascar, the world’s smallest monkey from South America, and sharks from the Pacific Ocean among many others.
Visitors of Tropikariet get to walk through a tropical rainforest zone with birds and small monkeys roaming free. There is a dark hall with moonshine lights, where it is possible to see bats and other animals who are usually only active at night. The aquarium has a living coral reef.
Tropikariet offers a lot of interactive zones for kids, where they can climb, run around, interact with the animals, pet fish, and turn into scientists carefully digging and brushing up dinosaur bones. It is possible to book special guided tours, snake and crocodile petting, as well as children's birthday parties. The party lasts for 2 hours, the minimum age for the guests is 7 years old, and the maximum group size is 15 kids.
Some parking spaces are available on site, and paid parking is available nearby. There is a stroller parking zone inside Tropikariet.

We visited the Tropikariet zoo and aquarium in March of 2018 and found it an absolutely must visit place in Helsingborg. We loved seeing the animals up closed and learning about them, we loved the aquariums with fish that we could touch, we loved the fact that kids can run around, crawl and climb in special zones. There are some free parking spots, a cafe and a souvenir shop.
