The San Sebastián Aquarium receives about 300 000 visitors a year and it is one of the most popular attractions in the Basque Country. The Aquarium is located in the Old Town, in a one of the most picturesque spots of the harbour. The aquarium occupies a building with two floors dedicated to the maritime and marine heritage of Gipuzkoa. Numerous tanks are dedicated to the Bay of Biscay, in which visitors can view more than 200 species, and go in the famous 360º tunnel. The aquarium is also a home to an exhibition that helps to explain and contextualize the marine and maritime history of Gipuzkoa and San Sebastián. The aquarium has a restaurant and a gift shop. Birthday parties for kids can also be organized here.
